A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hello. I am a storyteller.a journalist.a theater artist.a documentary creator.a classical singer.an actor.
I’m a born Michigander newly planted in Los Angeles
I am passionate about stories, and how they shape community.
I report on, write, and produce stories for Public Radio and Podcasts
AUDIO DOCUMENTARY CREATOR
I used my skills as a radio journalist and my curiosity about stories to create a documentary telling the stories of lesbian, gay, and bisexual students at a conservative college in the Chicago suburbs
ACTOR AND THEATER ARTIST
I’ve collaborated on projects with theater companies in Chicago, even helping to found a theater project with friends and colleagues
CLASSICAL SINGER AND VOICEOVER ARTIST
I use my training as a classical baritone both as a musician and as a commercial voiceover artist
Ever since I was young, I’ve had a deep obsession with stories. It’s no surprise that as I got older, I gravitated toward two very specific fields: journalism and the arts (music and theater). I am a strong believer in the idea that these two disciplines share a common core: storytelling. They both bring aspects of the human experience to an audience. I think journalism and the arts are also connected in how essential they are to a healthy society. Like nothing else, stories open people to each other, and that kind of openness has the power to heal and sustain communities.
I consider myself a storyteller and a story-seeker: a person trying his best to walk through the world with an open ear and an open heart.
